Kirby Markers was founded in 1991 by Jack Kirby, who developed the system to improve the game of golf. Initially, the markers consisted of only tops and anchor cans, which became obstructed by growing grass. This was resolved by adding the collars, which doubled the visibility of the markers from considerable distances. In 1992, Mr. Kirby sold the company to Plastics Engineering Development, which retained the name Kirby Markers.
Today, hundreds of golf courses around the country are utilizing Kirby Markers, and in the process realizing increased revenue generated by the simple act of golfers being able to determine their yardage much quicker––sending out more groups than ever, increasing player retention and boosting sales in the clubhouse and pro shop.
Our marker systems also present new advertising options, while helping courses cut expenses by decreasing maintenance time.
